, creative project manager Allyson Feeney, and the Octavia Project Alliance, completed a rigorous community engagement process to further define the community priorities and desires for the Octavia Project - previously the .

Our original design and

was intentionally an aspirational take on how the public realm can uplift and highlight the past, present and future of the Hayes Valley neighborhood, and the community activism and agency that shaped it. This summer engagement period was an opportunity to take a step back, reevaluating and refining the scope and scale of the project through a variety of events within the community; a design survey, in-person workshops, community conversations, and a walking tour. These events deepened the understanding of the communities priorities and allowed for broader engagement into the physical design process.
