We are sad to announce that with the close of 2021 will come the end of our ongoing work at

, following a decision by the project’s sponsor, Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E), to suspend programming on the site.

Over our eight years operating NOW Hunters Point, it was an honor to host over 150 events serving more than 30,000 neighbors from the Bayview-Hunters Point community. We are so grateful to everyone who joined in, illuminating the larger conversation about the site’s future and simply creating so much joy through their presence.

Our gratitude extends to our amazing community partners, whose passion, commitment, and generosity were our touchstone: Bayview Opera House, Center For Youth Wellness, BMAGIC, APRI, Bayview Hunters Point YMCA, Young Community Developers, Derrick Brown, SFDPH, SF Bike Coalition, Church of 8 Wheels, Heron’s Head Park Eco Center. And to PG&E for opening the site and supporting this unprecedented project.

We conceived NOW Hunters Point as a conversation between a community and a place fostered through an evolving offering of events and activations. Although, as an interim-use project, its end was anticipated from the outset, our hope is that the dialogue we cultivated will have an enduring presence as future plans for the site unfold.
